Trees from the Red Book are massively cut down on the eve of New Year in Crimea – mass media outlets
Crimean pines from the Red Book are massively trafficked on New Year’s eve in occupied Crimea.
As stated by online media outlet “BlackSeaNews”, around 230 of such trees were found on sale in a few days.
The trees were seized from the traders and documents have already been sent to the court.
Earlier in the so-called “Ministry of Environment and Natural Resources” of the occupied Crimea made an initiative to eliminate the Crimean pine from the Red Data Book of the Russian Federation, because of its “mass growth”. However, environmentalists believe that such decision could lead to a massive cutting of trees, so if to exclude from the Red Book, then exclude only those pines growing in the areas of artificial planting.
