The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine provided social security to families of those killed or died during the Revolution of Dignity.

As Ukrayinska Pravda (Ukrainian Truth) media outlet reports, 239 MPs voted for adoption of the law No. 2022a.

Thus, the MPs amended Article 10 of the law of Ukraine on status of the war veterans and guarantees of their social protection. The amendments stipulate that this law now applies to families of those killed or died while participating in the Revolution of Dignity.

The law defines the status of family members of those killed or died as a result of injuries, contusion or other health damage received while participating in the Revolution of Dignity and provides them with guarantees of social protection.

The law does not apply to family members of the police officers and other security officials who took part in the confrontation and were killed or died.

As a reminder, according to the “Search Initiative of Maidan”, 55 activists have been considered missing a year after the Maidan events. Meanwhile, the database of the Euromaidan SOS volunteer initiative numbers 27 missing activists of the Revolution of Dignity.
