Record number of attacks in Donbas since September – OSCE
Chief Monitor of the OSCE Special Monitoring Mission (SMM) to Ukraine Ertugrul Apakan states about a record number of ceasefire violations in Donetsk region since September 2015.
This is stated on the OSCE website.
According to Apakan, he is deeply concerned about a significant number of cases of use of artillery and heavy weapons.
The Chief Monitor of the OSCE SMM called unacceptable “the atmosphere, which the parties have created along the contact line.”
“The deterioration of the security situation also prevents the repair of infrastructure, which is vital for the normalization of life of people,” Apakan said.
The Trilateral Contact Group in Minsk announced new ceasefire agreements in a combat zone in the eastern Ukraine starting from January 14. However, since that time, the parties to the conflict have repeatedly accused each other of violating the ceasefire.
