107 captives held in eastern Ukraine – Yuri Tandyt
107 Ukrainian captives are held in Donbas and nine captives are illegally detained in Russia.
Advisor to the Chairman of the Security Service of Ukraine (SBU) Yuri Tandyt announced this.
“Officially, 107 people are illegally held captive in Donetsk and Luhansk. In addition, nine people are illegally detained in Russia,” Yuri Tandyt said in an interview with 112 Ukraine TV channel.
He also added that the SBU had succeeded to establish the whereabouts of 45 captives: 42 are in Donetsk and 3 are in Luhansk.
Advisor to the Chairman of the Security Service assured that Ukraine would be struggling to release all Ukrainian captives.
As reported, Evgeny Panov’s lawyer cannot visit his client, who is accused of alleged plotting terrorist acts in Crimea.
According to the Ukrainian human rights activists, at least 29 Ukrainians are still held behind bars in Russia after Nadia Savchenko, Hennadiy Afanasyev and Yuriy Soloshenko were released. Fifteen of them are Crimean Tatars.
