Ukraine’s Foreign Minister Andrii Sybiha has reported on X that Russian forces once again struck a production facility belonging to the US-owned company Mondelez in the town of Trostianets in Sumy Oblast on February 21, 2026.

“Today [February 21 – Ed.], Russia struck another American business in Ukraine — a civilian production facility of Mondelez in Trostianets — one of the first major U.S. investments in Ukraine’s independent economy. The missile hit one of the production buildings. Fortunately, there were no casualties,” Sybiha reported.

He highlighted that the facility “is not a military target but a factory that has operated since the 1990s, producing globally known brands.”

“When Russian missiles hit such sites, they are not only targeting Ukraine. They are targeting American business interests in Europe. Moscow cannot speak of economic dialogue with the United States while attacking U.S.-owned production facilities. Moscow cannot speak of economic dialogue with the United States while attacking U.S.-owned production facilities,” Ukraine’s Foreign Minister said.

In January 2026, Sybiha reported that Russia deliberately attacked a U.S.-owned Bunge facility in Dnipro, the Dnipropetrovsk Oblast.

On 21 August, 2025б Russia struck Zakarpattia Oblast (Transcarpathia). Two Kalibr missiles destroyed premises belonging to Flex, a US electronics manufacturing company, on the outskirts of Mukachevo.
