The Social Policy Ministry of Ukraine has published the letter with an appeal not to obey the law on the IDPs until the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine amends relevant regulations.

This was stated by the Vostok-SOS (East-SOS) organization.

According to the organization’s activists, a week after the adoption of the law signed by Deputy Social Policy Minister Valery Mushchinin, the social protection departments across Ukraine were sent the letters saying “Not to obey the law until the Cabinet changes the text of relevant regulations – No. 505 and No. 509.”

It means the actual instruction to the subordinates to violate the rules of the new version of the law on IDPs as the law has higher legal force if compared with the resolutions of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine. In turn, the non-fulfillment of the requirements of the updated law entails significant violations of the rights of IDPs to social protection, pensions, obtaining of administrative services, etc,” coordinator of Vostok-SOS Oleksandra Dvoretska said.

As a reminder, the President signed the law No. 2166, which strengthens the rights of IDPs, in January.

The Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted for the law on November 3, but the President vetoed it, sending it back for revision.
