First Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar People Nariman Dzhelial asks compatriots to keep an eye on their relatives and friends because of the worrying trend of disappearances and kidnappings in the peninsula.

I urge our fellow citizens to be attentive to each other, relatives and friends. Disappearances and abductions continue in Crimea. We and our friends, human rights defenders, try to follow each case and reveal what is going on,” he posted on his Facebook page.

The Crimean Tatars are asked to necessarily accompany their children to the place of their studies, as well as to keep constant contact with them, especially in the early and late hours when few people are on the streets.

Construct your path so that there are more cameras working round the clock and from the early morning or shops and other facilities on your way. Do not be lazy to accompany and meet them at the bus stops,” Nariman Dzhelial wrote.

The Crimean Tatars are also urged to immediately report as soon as the suspicion of disappearances arise.

As reported, the human rights activists question the effectiveness of the investigations into disappearances in Crimea. The investigation does not consider the version of the forced disappearances of the Crimean Tatars and involvement of the Crimean self-defense in it.
