Four dead, multiple injured in Russian attack on Sumy city center (updated)
Russian armed forces launched a strike on the central part of the city of Sumy on the morning of June 3, 2025. Four people were killed, and local authorities say that 20 people sustained injuries and medical teams are transporting them to hospitals, according to the Sumy Oblast Military Administration and local media outlet Kordon.Media.






Authorities are establishing the type of weapon used and clarifying the aftermath of the attack. Emergency workers are working at the scene. Fire destroyed two cars at the site of the strike.
Kordon.Media reported that one person died and at least three others sustained injuries as a result of the strike on the city.






Later, the Sumy Oblast Military Administration confirmed that one person had died in the Russian strike on the city center in Sumy. “Many people sustained injuries. Medical teams transported them to medical facilities in the city of Sumy,” the administration stated.
On June 3, the Sumy Oblast Military Administration reported that a 43-year-old man died in the hospital from injuries sustained in a Russian multiple-launch rocket system (MLRS) attack, becoming the fourth fatality.
“Sadly, another person injured in today’s Russian attack on Sumy has died. A 43-year-old man, who was in critical condition, has died in the hospital. His seven-year-old daughter remains seriously injured,” the military administration’s statement reads.
