Militants in Donbas threaten captives with death penalty – MP Herashchenko
Ukraine calls on the OSCE and the International Committee of the Red Cross to assess the threats of the DPR/LPR militants to practice executions.
The militants declare that they will apply the “Criminal Code of the USSR” against the captives, which provides for the death penalty and the concentration camps, President’s Commissioner for peaceful settlement of the situation in Donbas Iryna Herashchenko posted on her Facebook page.
“The militants are threatening the whole world that they will apply the ISIS methods to the captives, i.e. the death penalty, referring to the criminal code of a non-existent country of the Soviet Union,” Herashchenko wrote.
As Ukrinform news agency reports, the issue of liberation of the captives is expected to be discussed during a skype conference of the Trilateral Contact Group on February 12.
As reported, every second captive in Donbas is tortured.
