Soldiers of the volunteer battalion announced the blockade of the occupied territories

Since the Donbas rebels failed to comply with the ultimatum by veterans of the volunteer battalion to release all hostages, veterans have began organizing the blockade of the occupied territories of Donbas.

As informed by Valentyn Lykholit, ex-CO of “Aidar” battalion, according to LIGA.net

In particular, he promised to stop the flow of steel, coal, wood, industrial goods, alcohol and tobacco.

“We won’t restrict civilians to cross the rebel-held territories to buy food, water in Ukraine”, – said Lykholit.

According to him, a mobilization centre will be established on Monday on Maidan in Kyiv, where everyone can come and support or participate in creation of the blockade of the occupied territories.

Anatoly Vynohrodsky, CO of the “Donbas” battalion, informed that many veterans and volunteers of ATO are willing to join the campaign.

He noted that the initiators of the campaign demand the release of all hostages, those who are included in the official lists and those who are not mentioned in said lists, but according to the information of the soldiers of the volunteer battalion are in captivity.

Vynohrodsky emphasized that blockade will be carefully prepared in the area of ATO as well as in the Kyiv.

“We are preparing to oppose the government which, unfortunately, is involved in the trading with terrorists and occupiers”, – he said.

As a reminder, on December 16 soldiers of the volunteer battalions gave the rebels 7 days to release all hostages, threatening to create total blockade if rebels fail to comply.

Interlocutor of the LIGA.net of the Minsk group noted that this campaign is not coordinated with official authorities of Ukraine. At the same time, according to one of them, such moods “have been long been growing among the military”.
