Ukraine’s Air Force stated that Russian forces attacked Ukraine in total with two Iskander-M ballistic missiles and 122 strike UAVs of the Shahed, Gerbera, and other types from the evening of 29 November. Ukrainian defenders managed to shoot down or jam 104 drones.

Russian forces launched the missiles from temporarily occupied Crimea and the drones from the Russian cities of Oryol, Kursk, Millerovo, and Primorsko-Akhtarsk, as well as from Hvardiiske in Crimea. Around 75 out of all UAVs launched were Shaheds.

To provide context, Ukraine urges the international community to unite to restore global security under the UN Charter and strengthen sanctions against Russia to enforce compliance with international law. Following Russia’s initial invasion in 2014, Ukraine has pursued the liberation of its territories within its internationally recognized 1991 borders while developing comprehensive reintegration strategies and policies for all liberated areas.

Ukrainian experts point out that ChinaNorth KoreaIranCuba, and Brazil also assist Moscow in killing citizens of Ukraine in Russia’s war, including funding the Russian budget through trade.

Previously, the Financial Times reported that a major Chinese drone parts supplier has acquired a stake in a key Russian military drone manufacturer. The newspaper noted that this move signifies a further strengthening of ties between the Russian and Chinese defense industries.

This investigation documents for the first time an instance of direct Chinese investment in a sanctioned Russian defense company.

According to the FT, Chinese businessman Wang Dinghua, owner of the drone parts sales company Shenzhen Minghuaxin, purchased a 5% stake in the Russian company Rustakt. Rustakt produces the VT-40 FPV attack drones, which are actively used by Russians in the war against Ukraine. Despite military complaints about the assembly quality of these drones, they have become a mass tool for the Russian army due to their low cost and rapid production capabilities.

The deal became known after evidentiary documents were discovered by the Financial Times in open Russian archives. However, within a day, ownership data was hidden and removed from official Russian registries and private intelligence databases.
