Amnesty International demands to overturn ban on Communist Party in Ukraine
Amnesty International human rights organization has slammed the judicial ban on the Communist Party in Ukraine.
Banning the Party in Ukraine is a flagrant violation of freedom of expression and association, reads the statement of the Amnesty International.
The human rights activists urge to overturn the decision.
“The banning of the Communist Party in Ukraine sets a very dangerous precedent. This move is propelling Ukraine backwards not forwards on its path to reform and greater respect for human rights,” said John Dalhuisen, Amnesty International’s Director of Europe and Central Asia.
Yesterday, the District Administrative Court of Kyiv sustained the claim of the Justice Ministry of Ukraine on the ban of the Communist Party in full.
As stated on the Court’s website, the Court concluded the trial on the lawsuit of the Justice Ministry of Ukraine on banning the activities of the Communist Party of Ukraine.
