Russian occupiers are trying to lure out volunteers engaged in evacuating civilians from the Donetsk Oblast using fake requests, Yevhen Tkachov, head of the humanitarian mission “Proliska” in the Donetsk region, reported on “Hromadske Radio”.

A blue van with significant front-end damage shows a crushed hood with a visible penetration hole, damaged grille, and broken headlight assembly parked on a dirt roadside. The vehicle's weathered and dirty exterior reveals impact damage and paint scrapes, with bare trees and rural landscape visible in the background. “Proliska” evacuation vehicle after an attack by the Russian army in Kostiantynivka, November 8, 2025

“Unfortunately, there were cases, but thank God, the police helps us. We verify calls because there were several calls that we interpreted as provocative, from Russians, to lure volunteers into a trap. Therefore, this must be taken into account,” said Yevhen Tkachov.

Speaking about evacuation from the Donetsk region, Tkachov noted that the most difficult situation is on the outskirts of Druzhkivka, facing Russian positions.

“People have an illusion: it seems like a city, the front seems far away, shops and banks are working relatively safely, and there is electricity periodically. But in these directions, Russian drones are already starting to control the roads and are hitting civilian cars and the civilian population,” said the “Proliska” representative.

The situation in Kostiantynivka is the most difficult. Families with children remain there despite constant shelling and the absence of water, gas, and electricity.

“Recently, in Kostiantynivka, a family with two children was riding bicycles to get water. Can you imagine that? Not only are there still children there, but they were riding with their parents during the shelling to get water. As a result of the shelling, the family was injured. Such cases, unfortunately, are not isolated,” emphasized Tkachov.

He also explained that civilians from Pokrovsk, Myrnohrad, and nearby settlements no longer call volunteers with evacuation requests because there are no technical capabilities to do so in those areas. However, despite this, civilians who wish to leave often turn to the military, which then contacts the volunteers. Additionally, relatives of those remaining in Pokrovsk or Myrnohrad are contacting the volunteers.

To provide background, in November 2025, Russian forces struck a “Proliska” humanitarian mission vehicle with a drone at the entrance to Kostiantynivka in the Donetsk Oblast. Four people were in the car: volunteers Yevhen Tkachov and Oleh Tkachenko, as well as journalists from Spain and Austria. Everyone survived.

Earlier in Kramatorsk in the Donetsk region, a strike by a Russian “Lancet” UAV killed “FreeDom” TV channel journalist Olena Hubanova and cameraman Yevhen Karmazin. Special correspondent Oleksandr Kolychev was also taken to the hospital with injuries. At the time of the hit, the journalists were in a car at a gas station.

Also in the Donetsk region, Russians killed a French photojournalist, Antoine Lalicant, in their drone strike. They injured a Ukrainian journalist, Heorhii Ivanchenko, in this attack as well. Both journalists were wearing protective vests with the inscription “Press”.

Ukrainian experts point out that ChinaNorth KoreaIran, and Brazil assist Moscow in killing citizens of Ukraine in Russia’s war, including funding the Russian budget through trade.
