Russian drone strikes in Kherson kill one and injure multiple civilians
Russians killed one person and injured two others in their strikes on Kherson on the morning of 9 December, according to Roman Mrochko, head of the Kherson City Military Administration.
“The enemy used a drone to attack a vehicle in the Dniprovskyi district of the city at around 11:30. An unidentified man sustained fatal injuries,” Mrochko reported.
Another man was injured when explosives were dropped from a drone in the suburbs of Kherson. The local resident, 61, sustained shrapnel wounds.
Mrochko also noted that Russian forces attacked the central part of Kherson at around 10:30 from the temporarily occupied left bank of the Dnipro river, injuring a 44-year-old woman who was outside at the time. She was taken to hospital with blast trauma and shrapnel wounds.
Additionally, the Russians targeted a vehicle belonging to one of Kherson’s municipal enterprises, using a drone.
“The workers were in the suburbs at the time. They were lucky to survive. Three municipal employees are experiencing acute stress reactions. The photo shows the municipal vehicle after the enemy drone strike,” Mrochko wrote.
Later, local authorities reported that Russian forces again attacked Kherson with a UAV at around 12:30. A 61-year-old man walking home was injured when explosives were dropped from the drone. He was taken to hospital with blast injuries and a leg wound.
Russians killed a 73-year-old man at the passenger railway stopping point Kindiika in Kherson Oblast after a drone dropped explosives. Four people were wounded there, and two more were injured in Kherson itself on December 8, 2024, according to Oleksandr Prokudin, head of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration, on Telegram and Kherson Oblast Military Administration.
The authority reported that a man, 42, a man, 59, a woman aged 40 and another woman, 79, were also injured in Kindiika on Sunday. In addition, in Kherson, men aged 56 and 62 were injured due to a Russian drone attack.
Moreover, Russians killed a 34-year-old civilian man in Kherson Oblast by dropping explosives from a drone as he was riding a moped along the Novodmytrivka-Kizomys road on October 13, according to the Kherson Oblast Military Administration.

Previously, the Financial Times reported that Russian Federation has been terrorising the civilian population of Ukrainian cities to improve the effectiveness of its kamikaze drone attacks and drone operator skills. Western media assume that by doing so, the Russian forces are “experimenting” on people.

Earlier, Bloomberg reported that Serbia is negotiating with Russia to extend the natural gas supply contract, which expires in March, and aims to maintain supply volumes at the level of the current agreement with Gazprom.
Meanwhile, Representatives of the European Union countries failed on Friday to approve a 15th package of sanctions on Russia. Reuters reported that Two member states blocked the passage over a disagreement about extending the time given to European companies disinvesting from Russia, diplomats said.
