FSB employee beats witness in Sentsov-Kolchenko case, who earlier withdraws testimony
The lawyer of the witness in Sentsov-Kolchenko case said that his client was beat out testimonies.
Lawyer Oleksandr Popkov posted this on his Facebook page.
“On Wednesday, August 12, I visited Hennady Afanasyev, convicted in the case of Oleg Sentsov, in the remand prison No. 1 in Rostov-on-Don. He said that on August 6 he was visited by the same FSB officer, who came to him at the North Caucasus District Military court. The officer demanded that he confess who forced him to withdraw testimony against Sentsov,” the lawyer informed.
According to the lawyer, after Hennady Afanasyev refused to answer officer’s question, the officer got angry and hit a heavy blow at Afanasyev’s leg.
“I addressed the public monitoring committee of Rostov region. Yuri Blokhin and Oleg Polikarpov responded to my request. Today they have visited Afanasyev and took photo of already disappearing hematoma,” Oleksandr Popkov wrote.
The doctors of the remand prison No. 1 confirmed the diagnosis by their certificate. The documents were sent to the Investigative Committee. As a reminder, Hennady Afanasyev withdrew his testimony against Oleg Sentsov and Oleksandr Kolchenko during the court hearing that took place in Rostov-on-Don, saying he gave testimony under pressure and slandered detainees.
