The Interior Ministry of Ukraine announced the preliminary data of those, who abducted and tortured Maidan activists Tetiana Chornovil, Ihor Lutsenko and Yuri Verbytsky, during the protests in November 2013 – February 2014.

According to the Ministry, the organizer of beating of Tetiana Chornovil was a crime lord from Dniprodzerzhynsk Oleh Netrebko, who now flees from justice, the Ukrayinska Pravda (Ukrainian Truth) Ukrainian media outlet reports.

The investigation established that was a crime lord from Dniprodzerzhynsk Oleh Netrebko also known as Netryk. He found the people, who were under his influence, to commit the crime (attack on Chornovil): Zinchenko, Zaliubovsky Kornilov, who were summoned from Dniprodzerzhynsk,” head of the criminal investigation department of the Ukraine’s Interior Ministry Volodymyr Ostapenko said.

Kornilov, Netrebko, Zinchenko were put on international wanted list through Interpol,” Ostapenko said.

Zinchenko has been hiding in Russia since August. He was arrested on wanted notice, the materials for extradition were sent, but the Russian Federation delayed the process and then Zinchenko was released, his current whereabouts are probably Russia,” Ostapenko said, adding that other wanted people also flee from the investigation abroad.

Ostapenko also reported that people, involved in the abduction of Ihor Lutsenko and Yuri Verbytsky overnight into January 21, 2014, fled from justice in Crimea.

According to the official, that crime was organized by Zubrytsky and Chebotarev.

The immediate superior of abduction, citizen Nezhyvov, is the security service chief. He instructed those, who were involved in abduction,” Ostapenko said.

All active participants were put on the international wanted list. We know their whereabouts. They now stay in the occupied Crimea,” Ostapenko noted and added that they could not be extradited.

As a reminder, Tetiana Chornovil was severely beaten overnight into December 25, 2013 in Kyiv region.

Activists Ihor Lutsenko and Yuri Verbytsky were abducted from the Oleksandrivsky Hospital, taken to the forest and beaten. Verbytsky died of his injuries.

It was announced in summer that all the Interior Ministry departments, involved in the attacks on Maidan, would be closed down.
