Submission of new PGO’s materials on Maidan to ICC under threat – lawyer
Submission of new materials of the Prosecutor General’s Office of Ukraine (PGO) on crimes committed during Maidan protests to the International Criminal Court (ICC) is under threat.
Lawyer of the Heavenly Hundred families, member of the Attorney Advisory Group Yevhenia Zakrevska posted this on Facebook.
According to her, Vitaliy Kasko, who was responsible for the reform in the PGO, initiated the establishment in the Office of the international group to prepare the second submission to the International Criminal Court regarding the crimes against Euromaidan. The materials should have been jointly prepared by the PGO and the public.
The Global Rights Compliance international experts, invited by him, analyzed the interim decision of the ICC and developed the plan for the collection of additional evidence, as well as held the training sessions for the prosecutors. This cost the state nothing.
“Since Vitaliy was dismissed, the PGO has ceased cooperation with both the GRC and the non-governmental organizations – participants in the second joint submission. The submission to the ICC is under threat,” Zakrevska wrote.
Today, the Prosecutor General’s Office summoned former Deputy Prosecutor General Vitaliy Kasko for questioning on charges of obstructing the investigation of crimes against Euromaidan. Later it was said that Kasko was questioned as a witness.
