Russian activist Roslovtsev seeks asylum in Ukraine after anti-Putin protests
Russian anti-governmental activist Roman Roslovtsev, who is known for wearing Putin’s mask during protests, has applied for political asylum in Ukraine.
In the interview to Hromadske TV channel, 36-year-old man explained that the decision had been made due to the pressure on him at home.
“The reason why I decided to seek asylum in Ukraine consists in inability to continue the protest activity in Russia. FSB officers were spying upon my home, therefore I took nothing and I came here barehanded,” he said
According to him, he is going to submit official application for asylum on Monday.
Earlier, the State Border Guard Service of Ukraine reported that a “famous writer” from Russia applied for political asylum.
Roman Roslovtsev was detained at least ten times as he was walking on Red Square in Moscow wearing Vladimir Putin’s mask.
