Toilets for people in wheelchairs are not installed in the premises of the International Exhibition Centre, where Eurovision Song Contest 2017 will take place.

As reported by Valeriy Sushkevych, Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for the Rights of Disabled Persons, during a briefing at the Livoberezhna metro station in Kyiv.

He said that he was in the premises on March 20, when President Petro Poroshenko held a meeting of the Regional Development Council.

“When I wanted to go to the toilet, I was led across the courtyard to some other building where there was a small bathroom. Two months before the Eurovision there is no toilet for a hypothetical participant from Russia. I’m not even talking about the curbs in that territory”, as reporter of the Human Rights Information Centre has quoted Valeriy Sushkevych.

As a reminder, on March 22, the SBU banned the entry of Russian Eurovision participant Yulia Samoilova due to the illegal entry into the territory of Crimea.

On April 5, residents of Kyiv in wheelchairs protested against the inaccessibility of the Livoberezhna metro station.
