In Crimea law enforcers searched and detained a Crimean Tatar
On Wednesday morning, the police of occupied Crimea came with a search to the home of Crimean Tatar Kurkchi Mamet, after which he was taken to the police station by force.
As reported by Nariman Dzhelalov, Deputy Chairman of the Mejlis of the Crimean Tatar people, on his Facebook page.
“Today at 6 a.m., a search was conducted in the house of Crimean Tatar Kurkchi Mamet in the village of Uch-Kyuyu (Vostochne) of the Sovyets’kyi district of Crimea. Currently, he was taken by the local police to the local police department”, – he wrote.
Later Dzhelalov said that lawyer Dzhemil Temishev had met with detained Kurkchi Mamet.
According to him, the official reason for the search and detention of Kurkchi is the fact that he is suspected of selling drugs. His telephone and money were seized during the search.
The lawyer noted that Kurkchi denies his guilt and involvement in the presented charges. Temishev claims that the detainee was not subjected to any illegal measures of physical and psychological pressure.
He has already been assigned a public defender.
According to Temishev, a court hearing on appointing a preventive measure of restraint, which will probably be in the form of arrest for two months, for Kurkchi may take place tomorrow.
