In Crimea 10 Crimean Tatars who witnessed illegal search were released after 10 days of arrest

On February 26, in Crimea 10 Crimean Tatars were released after 5 days of administrative arrest. They were detained on February 21 in Kamianka village, near Simferopol, for coming to support their neighbor Marlen Mustafayev, whose house was searched by the security forces.

As reported by actvisit Nazim Sheikhmambet on his Facebook page.

According to him, Osman Arifmimetov, Remzi Bekirov, Ruslan Suleymanov, Rieza Izetov, Alim Karimov, Walid Abu Farid, Seyran Murtazayev, Mejit Abdurakhmanov, Ablyakim Abdurakhmanov, Enver Tasinov were released.

“They came to support, highlight, and show that they are disturbed by the lawlessness that is happening in the Crimea. And for this they were convicted and imprisoned for 5 days in jail!”, – wrote lawyer Emil Kurbedinov on his Facebook page.

As a reminder, on February 21, activist Marlen Mustafayev was detained for publication made in 2014 on social network for allegedly demonstrating symbolic of the Hizb ut-Tahrir political organization, which is banned in Russia. On the morning of the same day, his house was searched by security forces.

At the same time, police has detained 10 Crimean Tatars, who were filming these events on the phones and were broadcasting them.

They were sentenced to an administrative arrest for a term of 5 days for “unauthorized mass event”.

Mustafayev was sentenced to 11 days of arrest.
