More than 10 apartments were damaged in a five-story building when militants were shelling the Krasnohorivka town in the Donetsk region on Sunday. 8 people received minor injuries as a result of the shelling.

As reported on the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine website with reference to the Ukrainian side of the Joint Center on Control and Coordination (JCCC).

“Three apartments were destroyed almost completely. The shell hit the window of an apartment on the fourth floor. The blast destroyed partitions on the third and fifth floors. Fortunately, residents had left the building in time. The number of wounded people reached eight. Luckily, again, these are all minor injuries”, – said in a statement.

According to the JCCC, the shelling of the residential sector of Krasnohorivka lasted from 6:35 am to 9:00 am, militants were using large-caliber weapons prohibited by the Minsk agreements.

In addition, shells hit the neurology and ambulance unit of the Krasnohorivka local district hospital, pierced the roof of the local school №2 on Nakhimova Street, causing fire and damaged residential buildings on Mayakovskoho, Belynskoho, Hrushevskoho, Bohdana Khmelnytskoho, Tchaikovskoho and Kashtanova Streets.

The JCCC observation group continues working in the town and clarifying other consequences of the shelling.

“The barbaric shelling of the same quarters of the populated locality proves that bandits are pounding Krasnohorivka’s vital infrastructure absolutely conscientiously and deliberately. It also proves that the laws of humanism and warfare do not exist for them. Such terror attacks by illegal armed groups of the ORDO (Certain areas of Donetsk region) against civilian population are another attestation of gross violations of the Minsk agreements and of the deliberate planning and execution of terror attacks against civilian population”, – the JCCC noted.
