Russians killed teenager in Hlukhiv and injured 12 more people injured, mostly children

Sumy Oblast Prosecutor’s Office reported that one child was killed, and twelve civilians were injured, including six children, as a result of the Russian attack on the City of Hlukhiv in the Sumy Oblast.

 “Investigation materials indicate that the enemy used prohibited methods of warfare and struck the centre of Hlukhiv in the Shostka district with a multiple-launch rocket system at around 12:40 on 27 July 2024. As a result of the attack, 13 civilians were injured, including seven children. Shortly thereafter, a 14-year-old boy died in the hospital,” the Oblast Prosecutor’s Office wrote on Telegram. 

The attack also damaged apartment buildings and houses, an educational institution, a shop, and vehicles.

 

On the same day, Russians killed a 37-year-old civilian woman in an attack on the town of Antonivka in Kherson Oblast, according to a Telegram post by Oleksandr Prokudin, the head of the Kherson Oblast Military Administration.

A day earlier, on July 26, 2024, Russia’s Armed Forces dropped explosives from a drone on people standing near a store in Kherson. The Kherson Oblast Military Administration reported as a result of the attack, men aged 64, 66, 55, and 63, as well as a 66-year-old woman, sustained blast injuries and shrapnel wounds. 

Emergency services transported all five victims to medical facilities. They were in stable condition and receiving necessary medical care.

On the morning of July 25, 2024, the Russian military attacked Kindiika in Kherson Oblast with a drone, killing a 51-year-old resident.

“A local citizen has been killed as a result of a Russian drone strike in Kindiika. In the morning, occupying forces dropped explosives from a drone on a 51-year-old man who was outside,” Oleksandr Prokudin, the Head of Kherson Oblast Military Administration wrote on Telegram.

Earlier, President Volodymyr Zelenskyy appealed to world leaders who are still not on board with the Global Peace Summit to join the collective effort. He called on them to show leadership in advancing real peace, not just a pause between strikes.

Zelenskyy expressed confidence that the efforts of the global majority are the best guarantee that all commitments will be fulfilled.

Earlier, Russian Deputy Foreign Minister Mikhail Galuzin claimed that Russia would not participate in the next Peace Summit. He called Zelenskyy’s peace formula an ultimatum and added that Russia would not take part in such summits.

Zelenskyy announced that six additional countries and organizations have signed the Peace Summit communiqué following the Global Peace Summit in Switzerland. Among them are Barbados and the Republic of the Marshall Islands.

The Secretary of the National Security and Defense Council of Ukraine, Oleksandr Lytvynenkostated Ukraine realises the war will end with negotiations. Therefore, it is preparing and promoting President Volodymyr Zelenskyy’s peace formula.
