Suleymanov, defendant in the “case of saboteurs”, is sentenced to almost 2 years of imprisonment in a colony and fined 3.5 million rubles

In occupied Crimea, the Zheleznodorozhnyi District Court of Simferopol sentenced Redvan Suleymanov, defendant in the “case of saboteurs”, to 1 year and 8 months of imprisonment in a colony and 3.5 million rubles in fine.

As reported by lawyer Emil Kurbedinov on his Facebook page.

“Redvan Suleymanov was sentenced to one year and eight months of imprisonment under Article 207 part 2 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation! In addition, the court granted the claim of Maritime Directorate LLC for more than 3 million rubles and the lawsuit of the Regional Sevastopol bus terminal for almost 400 thousand rubles! Redvan and his appeal intend to appeal against the illegal verdict of the court!”, – he wrote.

The “court” has appointed the verdict on Thursday, August 10. The prosecutor was requesting to imprison Redvan Suleymanov for two years.

As a reminder, Redvan Suleymanov was detained on July 30, 2016 at the Simferopol airport. He is accused of spying for Ukraine and preparing an act of sabotage in Simferopol.

On August 10, 2016, Russian FSB has issued a statement about two alleged attempts of Ukrainian military to attack Crimea and to organize terrorist attacks in there, during which a Russian soldier and a FSB officer died.

According to the FSB of the Russian Federation, Yevgen Panov is one of the organizers of the prevented terrorist acts. Andriy Zakhtiy was also detained on this charge.
