In Crimea 10 Crimean Tatars sentenced to 5 days of arrest for presence at site of search

10 Crimean, who were detained Kamianka, near Simferopol, on February 21, were sentenced to 5 days of administrative arrest for the fact that they came to support their neighbor Marlen Mustafayev, whose house was searched by the security forces.

As reported by journalist Anton Naumlyuk on his Facebook page.

According to him, Osman Arifmimetov, Remzi Bekirov, Ruslan Suleymanov, Izetov Rieza, Alim Karimov, Walid Abu Farid, Seyran Murtazayev, Mejit Abdurakhmanov, Ablyakim Abdurakhmanov, Enver Tasinov were arrested.

After detainment they were taken to the District Department of Internal Affairs, where protocols were made against them under the Article 20.2 of the Code of Administrative Offences of the Russian Federation (Violating the Established Procedure for Arranging or Conducting a Meeting, Rally, Demonstration, Procession or Picket).

As reported by Crimean lawyer Emil Kurbedinov on his Facebook page, court has conducted at least three trials against detainees with the presence of a lawyer.

He also reported that detainees were abused during the investigation and trial.

“All detainees stated that they intentionally were not given food and drinks from morning to late at night, they were kept in the vehicle, which was not heated. Those are tortures! Grigor, a public activist who was also detained, stated that he was beaten in the car. He could barely walk to the courtroom!”, – wrote Kurbedinov.

As a reminder, in the morning on February 21, Crimean Tatar Marlen Mustafayev was detained on his way to work and was taken to the Center for Combating Extremism and security forces conducted a search in his house in Kamianka village. Police has also detained more than 10 Crimean Tatars, who came to Mustafayev’s house to witness the illegal search.

Mustafayev’s wife remained at home with a 4-month old daughter.
